WHY DONATE? To donate blood is the most precious gift of all — the gift of life. Donations may save the lives of patients undergoing all sorts of situations: trauma, chronic illnesses, blood disorders, cancer, and so on! According to Stanford Blood Center (SBC), donors who give blood four times or more in a calendar year are eligible for our Four Seasons Donor Club and receive an attractive Four Seasons T-Shirt. Ask them about this when you donate! WHY IT IS CRITICAL TO DONATE BLOOD NOW Even with shelter in place in place, there are still many lives needs saving! *Urgent: COVID-19 Convalescent Plasma Shortage Critical Need! Fully recovered COVID-19 patients needed to help those currently sick. HOW DO I DONATE? Check out our local blood centers for the donation process and if you are eligible to donate blood by clicking on their names! Stanford Blood Center (SBC)

WHAT IS COVID-19? "On February 11, 2020 the World Health Organization announced an official name for the disease that is causing the 2019 novel coronavirus outbreak, first identified in Wuhan China. The new name of this disease is coronavirus disease 2019, abbreviated as COVID-19. In COVID-19, ‘CO’ stands for ‘corona,’ ‘VI’ for ‘virus,’ and ‘D’ for disease. Formerly, this disease was referred to as “2019 novel coronavirus” or “2019-nCoV”. There are many types of human coronaviruses including some that commonly cause mild upper-respiratory tract illnesses. COVID-19 is a new disease, caused by a novel (or new) coronavirus that has not previously been seen in humans."
