Fakhrunnesa (Nessa) Samim
she/her

“Leadership is my most comfortable skill, one that I have strengthened over the years through the home and school activities. For this, I believe that I would most thrive in a position that requires a leader. Next to the president stands Vice-president, a role in which I can easily put in all my effort and also be comfortable. I have found myself to have enjoyed the most of my positions as either President or Vice-President. I love being a leader and guiding my team members through tasks and events. I feel most comfortable and enjoy the work that comes with being a VP. I love to get to know people and their passions, whether when it comes to recruiting new members or teammates in general. Looking at my past experiences, I would feel most motivated and productive in my position as VP. I want to run for VP because I believe my personality, personal goals, and qualifications most fit this position and its requirements.”

Emmanuel Rodriguez-Morales
he/him

“I believe that I am a qualified candidate because of my past work experience. In the past, I have worked as a clerical, having gained the ability to multitask in certain roles such as printing data, outreach calls, gatherings/organizing information, and many other aspects of office work. I also have good initiative skills as I have organized along with other club members a focus group in the past. In this group, I was responsible for organizing and asking the questions, getting the chance to interview students about their concerns with the school, and presenting these concerns to the principal. Along with presenting these concerns to the principal, we also had the chance to present them to our district as a part of our outreach. From these experiences, I have also had the chance to develop tenacity, responsibility, and a close eye for detail that I feel make me the best fit to be the Secretary for MOA.”
Picture

Varun Ayyappan
he/him

“I believe that I will best suit the role as a vice president, as I can function efficiently in a leadership role, take responsibilities and complete the tasks in a structured, and methodical way. In the past, I was involved with my school’s sports and debate organizations and participated in tournaments. My experience in public speaking would be an advantage as a vice-president, as I would strive to maintain both fun and camaraderie through healthy communication and teamwork. I would also work towards bringing in medical professionals such as doctors, social workers, and dietitians for a Q&A session, so the team members get a feel of these professions. I also have new ideas for planning volunteering/fundraising events that would help in the betterment of the club.  It would be an honor to work as a vice-president of the MOA club, and I will carry the responsibilities by collaborating with fellow officers and valuing the team members' opinion and feedback.”
Picture

Victor Tran
he/him

“I believe that I am the best candidate for this position because I am a natural born leader who believes in inclusively and diversity. I would work with all the other officers to implement and find ways to recruit more people into the club and make everyone feel welcomed. I have worked as a volunteer for the Second Harvest during the pandemic so I have learned to understand and be supportive to everybody as we don't know what they're going through."

WHAT IS COVID-19?
"
On February 11, 2020 the World Health Organization announced an official name for the disease that is causing the 2019 novel coronavirus outbreak, first identified in Wuhan China. The new name of this disease is coronavirus disease 2019, abbreviated as COVID-19. In COVID-19, ‘CO’ stands for ‘corona,’ ‘VI’ for ‘virus,’ and ‘D’ for disease. Formerly, this disease was referred to as “2019 novel coronavirus” or “2019-nCoV”.

There are many types of human coronaviruses including some that commonly cause mild upper-respiratory tract illnesses. COVID-19 is a new disease, caused by a novel (or new) coronavirus that has not previously been seen in humans."
